Jabba’s Sail Barge, the Khetanna, was the first ever HasLab project: a Vintage Collection vehicle over four feet long that Hasbro would only make if 5,000 collectors backed it at $499.99. It got 8,810 orders and reached backers in March 2019 with Jabba the Hutt and an exclusive Yak Face in the box. I backed it, so here is everything about it: the campaign, its size and features, what came with it and what it sells for now.

The first HasLab campaign
Hasbro launched HasLab, its crowdfunding platform, at New York Toy Fair on 17 February 2018, and the Sail Barge was its first project. Backers had until 3 April to reach 5,000. It was close: with under two weeks to go it had nearly 3,000, and it only passed the target at the end of March.
Part way through the campaign, Hasbro added a sweetener: every barge would also come with an exclusive Yak Face on a Power of the Force card. The campaign closed with 8,810 orders. Backers received the 64-page Behind the Workbench book first, and the barge itself began arriving in March 2019, nearly a year after the campaign closed.
How big is the HasLab Sail Barge?
Hasbro gives it as 49.35 inches long, 14.64 inches wide and 17.01 inches tall to the top of the sails, and it weighs 13.89 pounds. That’s nearly 20 inches longer than the HasLab Razor Crest, which is 30 inches with its cannons, so it needs a long shelf.
HasLab Sail Barge features
- Cockpit: a two-person cockpit with a full instrument layout.
- Prisoner’s cell: a sliding door, ankle shackles on the wall and a Hammerhead skeleton chained inside, with a drop door from the forward deck to drop prisoners in.
- Galley: a grill top and a sink.
- Armory: a weapons repair bench and storage racks, with a hidden smugglers’ compartment in the floor.
- Jabba’s lounge: trophy heads on the walls and shutters that open and close.
- Deck: gratings that light the rooms below, two rotating cannons with six places on the rail to mount them, and two soft cloth sails.
- Removable side panels: they come off to open up the interior for displays and dioramas.

What came with the HasLab Sail Barge?
- The barge, in Vintage Collection packaging with a HasLab seal
- A 3.75-inch Jabba the Hutt
- Yak Face on an exclusive Power of the Force card, with a collectors coin and a drinking glass
- Jabba’s Sail Barge (The Khetanna): Behind the Workbench, a 64-page book on how the film set and the toy were designed
The HasLab Yak Face
Yak Face is the famous one: the original 1985 Kenner figure was never released on a US card, which made it the grail of the Power of the Force line. The HasLab figure comes on a card in that 1985 Power of the Force style, with its own collectors coin, as the original did. Collectors usually list it as VC000.
The figure itself is the same as VC132 Saelt-Marae, the regular Vintage Collection release from 2019, which Hasbro reissued for the Return of the Jedi 40th anniversary in 2023. Only the HasLab one has the Power of the Force card, the coin and the glass. Small differences have turned up between HasLab Yak Faces: some have an item stamp on the foot and some don’t, and the coin finish varies.
The original 1985 Kenner Yak Face is on my vintage Kenner Star Wars figures checklist.
How much is the HasLab Sail Barge worth now?
A lot more than $499.99. Recent eBay sales averaged about $2,400, with seven sales between $2,025 and $2,800. That’s nearly five times what backers paid. Carded HasLab Yak Faces also sell on their own, for roughly $250 to $330.
Check that a listing has Jabba, the Yak Face, the cannons and both sails, as all of them came with every barge.
My HasLab Sail Barge review
I reviewed the Khetanna on my YouTube channel:
The LEGO Sail Barge
If you build rather than collect figures, LEGO has made Jabba’s sail barge three times, most recently as a 3,943-piece Ultimate Collector Series set. They’re all on my page of every LEGO Jabba’s Sail Barge set.
