The nefarious Cad Bane first appears in Season One of The Clone Wars. His introduction began with a rescue mission for Ziro the Hutt.

Each of his heists revealed his character as one who wasn’t afraid to go to the extreme to get any job done. His reputation proceeded him throughout the galaxy. Whenever someone was willing to pay high enough and had an extremely challenging job, you can bet he was the one to do it.

Bane’s introduction to Star Wars starts with him working for Darth Sidious. He is charged to steal a Jedi Holocron. Of course, Bane completes this task successfully.

However, the Jedi won’t let him steal such an important artifact without a challenge. Cad Bane faces Ahsoka, Anakin, and Bolla Ropal.

His strength is shown when he kills the Jedi Master Ropal. He also captures Ahsoka and coerces Anakin into opening the Holocron. His desire to succeed knows no bounds.

By far the best depiction of Cad Bane’s character, sly thinking, and combat skills is in Season Four. During the episodes where Obi-Wan goes undercover as a bounty hunter, Cad Bane works closely with him.

Here we see Bane’s quick thinking and willingness to do anything it takes to get what he wants. These episodes show his peculiar moral code as well. Although seen as ruthless, he still has some “morals” he chooses to follow. One of which includes allowing other formidable foes an honorable death.

This time he is hired by the Kaminoans to hunt down Omega, the female clone. Since these episodes occur after Order 66, we know that Cad Bane was still alive and prosperous in his role. During this time, he was 43 years old.

To every fan’s excitement, Bane made his first live-action series debut in The Book of Boba Fett. By now, it has been years since his prime time, leaving fans to wonder what has become of him.

He has gained infamy as the leader of the Pyke Syndicate. As the leader of the group, he must finally go head-to-head with his former mentee Boba Fett.

This match-up is one of the most awaited in the Star Wars Galaxy. These two bounty hunters were some of the most ruthless and the two best in the galaxy. Thus, leaving many to wonder who was the better of the two.

Some believe this answers the question of who is the better bounty hunter between the two. Yet, we know in Star Wars that there is always the possibility that Bane may have somehow survived. Additionally, he is years older than Boba and no longer in his prime. Who knows how this duel would have turned out had he been in his prime?

As we know, Cad Bane’s species, the Duros, have an average lifespan similar to that of humans. Some, however, have been able to live as long as 150 years old. By The Book of Boba Fett, Bane was very close to the end of the lifespan of a Duro.

Cad Bane notably has breathing tubes connected to each of his cheeks. These tubes not only assist with his breathing but also help with survival in difficult environments. They allow him to better breathe in space.

Although middle-aged, he still packs quite the punch with his quick gunslinging methods and cunning thinking. Even though his final appearance in The Book of Boba Fett shows him as a 71-year-old leader of the Pyke Syndicate, he will still forever hold his place in the galaxy as a devious and successful bounty hunter.
